Pre-Surgery Evaluation
Pre-surgery clearance refers to the process of evaluating a patient’s health status prior to surgery to identify any underlying health conditions that could increase the risk of complications during or after surgery. By identifying these conditions, we can take steps to minimize the risk of complications and improve patient outcomes. This evaluation may include:
- Medical history: The patient’s medical history, including any chronic conditions, previous surgeries, allergies, and medications will be reviewed.
- Physical exam: A physical exam may be performed to evaluate a patient’s general health, including vital signs, lung and heart function, and neurological status.
- Diagnostic testing: Additional testing, such as blood work, imaging studies, or electrocardiograms, may be ordered to evaluate a patient’s overall health status.
Based on the results of these evaluations, Dr. Zarini may recommend additional treatment or adjustments to the surgical plan to reduce the risk of complications.
